Meet Dr. Bradley Schiller
“I just wished I had known then what I know now,” proclaims Dr. Schiller.
My first exposure to chiropractic was in 1995. I was urged by a friend to see a chiropractor because I wasn’t able to turn my head due to neck pain. I made an appointment to see “Dr. Rick” the local chiropractor.
It was incredible, within a couple of visits my neck pain was gone. I was intrigued by the response that I had to chiropractic care so I decided to obtain more information. Dr. Rick and I had lunch and he began to explain about chiropractic and how your body has the ability to heal itself through a natural means. As we talked I became very excited. I had already had extensive training as a massage therapist. Chiropractic seemed to be the natural progression for my skills and interests. That is when I decided that I wanted to become a chiropractor.
Dr. Schiller began his pre-chiropractic education at Monroe County Community College and Eastern Michigan University. He studied basic sciences such as: inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses. These were all requisite courses for his chiropractic education, which he began in January 1998 at Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas. This course of study consisted of 3 years and over 5000 hours of schooling with a major emphasis in anatomy and human physiology, x-ray diagnosis and 9 different chiropractic techniques. In addition to the course work, 15 months were spent in student and public clinic where he applied all of these techniques and science classes. The climax of this education was graduating with a Bachelor of Anatomy and a Doctor of Chiropractic in January of 2001.
“We love to help people of all ages feel better,” Smiles Dr Schiller. Our goal is to improve the quality of people’s lives by allowing the body to function at the highest level possible. We focus on finding the cause of the problems rather than treating the symptoms. There is no better feeling in the world than to see a person with a smile on their face after their body starts to respond to care and they start to feel better.
We treat everyone as family and make them feel as comfortable as possible while easing any apprehensions or concerns they may have. Our patients really appreciate that.
Michigan has always been home for Dr Schiller so upon graduation it was natural to return. He moved his family to Traverse City, Michigan and on May 14, 2001 opened his practice. Dr Schiller is married to Mary and has one child Daklen, who has never been vaccinated or received any antibiotics. (If that sounds interesting, be sure to ask for further explanation by Dr Schiller!) Recreation these days for Dr. Schiller mostly involves chasing his young son but this is no sacrifice as family is his primary focus. He and the family also enjoy skiing, scuba diving and many other outdoor sports.
